What arrives when
The right push.
At the right time.
For coaches, team managers and players in amateur football – on iOS and Android, in the language you've set in the app.
-
New event – reply with one tap
When your coach creates a match or training session, the whole team gets a push with date, time and venue. It comes with “Accept” and “Decline” buttons – you reply without opening the app and get an instant confirmation.
If an event is cancelled or removed, everyone who has already replied is told.
- Accept/decline buttons on iOS and Android
- Confirmation “Accepted ✓” or your place on the waiting list
- Buttons work until the team's reply deadline
- Recurring events as one summary push instead of dozens
- Tapping the push opens the event directly
-
Automatic reminders
Anyone who hasn't replied is reminded before the event – by default 48 and 4 hours ahead. As a manager you set the times per team or switch a reminder off.
-
Nudges
Still missing a reply? Nudge the player straight from the event – they get a push with accept and decline buttons. To keep it from getting annoying, you can do this at most every six hours.
-
Waiting list & minimum numbers
Move up from the waiting list and you'll know straight away. And once the minimum number of players have accepted, everyone who's in gets a “Game on” push.
-
Line-up & squad
When the coach picks you for the squad or publishes the line-up, you know right away – whether you're starting or on the bench.
-
You decide what comes through
In the settings you can switch push off entirely, or individually turn off notifications for goals and final scores, for line-ups and squads and for player replies. Busy team chats can be muted per team.
-
Match day live
Can't make it but want to know the score? Every goal lands on your phone with the current score, followed by the final result at full time. Afterwards Startelf calls everyone who played to vote for Player of the Match and announces the winner.
Plus the little things that make a team: teammates' birthdays, being accepted into the team or becoming a manager.
- Goal push with scorer and score
- Final score at full time
- Player of the Match – vote and result
- Team birthdays (everyone decides whether theirs is shown)
-
For managers
When someone accepts, declines or ends up on the waiting list, you get a quick heads-up. When a player enters an absence, there's exactly one push with dates and reason – not one per event.
-
Team chat & mentions
New chat messages arrive with sender and preview. If someone mentions you with @name, it says so right in the title. You can mute each team chat individually.

Quick answers
FAQ on push notifications
Can I accept or decline straight from the push notification?
Yes. Pushes for new events, reminders and nudges come with accept and decline buttons. On Android you see them right away; on iPhone, press and hold the notification. Startelf then confirms your reply – or shows your place on the waiting list. The buttons work until your team's reply deadline.
Which push notifications does Startelf send?
New events, cancellations, reminders and nudges, moving up from the waiting list, “Game on” once the minimum number is reached, squad and line-up, goals and final score, Player of the Match, team chat and mentions, team birthdays and being accepted into a team. Managers also hear about replies and new absences.
Can I choose which pushes I get?
Yes. In the settings you can switch push off entirely, or individually turn off notifications for goals and final scores, for line-ups and squads and – for managers – for player replies. You mute the team chat per team. When reminders go out is set by the manager for each team.
When are players reminded about an event?
By default 48 and 4 hours before kick-off – but only those who haven't replied yet. The manager can change or switch off both times per team and nudge individual players as well.
Do notifications show up on my Apple Watch?
Yes. Startelf pushes come with sound and vibration, so – as usual on iOS – they're mirrored from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch.
What language are the pushes in?
In the language you've set in the app – German, English, Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal). Everyone in the team gets the push in their own language.
Do parents get the pushes for their children?
Yes. Pushes for a child's profile go to the parents, with the child's name in the notification. Replies from the push then count for the child directly.
