Reply for your child – no child account needed

With the parent account you manage your child's profile in the STARTELF football app as their guardian: replies, absences and push notifications – without your child needing an account or an email address of their own. Works for several children in different teams, too.

For parents in youth football

One account.
All your kids.

As a guardian you handle the admin for your child – the team sees your child in the squad, you get the messages. In one app for iOS and Android.

  • Child profile, no account needed

Create a profile for your child in the app – a name is enough, date of birth and position are optional. Your child doesn't need a phone, an email address or a password.

In the squad your child appears as a regular player, with a note saying who manages them. You show up in the team with the role “Guardian”.

    • Name, date of birth, position and profile picture
    • On first launch: “I'm a child's guardian”
    • Your child joins the team via an invitation
    • Delete the profile permanently at any time
  • Replies for your child

On each event you accept or decline for your child. Play in the same team yourself? You'll see one row for you and one for each child.

  • Push notifications come to you

New events and reminders for your child land on your phone – with your child's name on them. Accept or decline straight from the notification.

  • Absences

On holiday or injured? Enter the period for your child – events in it are declined automatically.

  • Several children, several teams

Manage up to ten children with one account, each in their own teams. The “My children” list shows them all at a glance.

  • A clear view in the squad

In the squad, every child shows who manages them. Children the coach has added who aren't linked to a parent yet are marked “Not linked yet”.

  • Together with the other parent

Send the other parent an invite link: whoever opens and confirms it becomes a guardian too and can handle replies. Up to four guardians per child are possible.

Coaches can also add a child straight to the squad and send the parents a connect link. Until a parent connects, the coach manages the profile.

    • Share the invite link via any messenger
    • Links are valid for 7 days
    • Before connecting, the app shows which child it's for
    • Remove guardians individually – yourself included
  • Join in on the team chat

As a guardian you read and write in your child's team chat – always under your own name, clearly marked as “Guardian of …”.

  • Hand it over later

Once your child is old enough, create a takeover link. With it they move their profile and history to an account of their own – and the guardian link ends.

Four steps

From child profile to first reply

  1. Add your child

Create a profile for your child – no account of their own needed. Or open the coach's connect link.

  2. Join the team

Use the team invitation to join on your child's behalf. You're added as a guardian automatically.

  3. Invite the other parent

Share the invite link – then you can both reply.

  4. Reply & go

Push notifications come to you; you reply for your child with one tap.

Quick answers

FAQ on the parent account

Does my child need their own account or phone?

No. The child profile is linked to your account – no email address, password or device of their own. As the guardian, you get every notification about your child on your phone.

Can both parents reply for the child?

Yes. Use “Invite another guardian” to share a link that's valid for 7 days. Whoever opens and confirms it becomes a guardian too. Each child can have up to four guardians.

I've got several children in different teams – does that work?

Yes. One account lets you manage up to ten children, each in their own teams. Notifications carry the child's name so you always know who they're about.

Can the coach add my child to the squad first?

Yes. The coach adds your child to the squad and sends you a connect link. When you open it, the app shows your child's name and team – once you confirm, you're the guardian and take over the replies.

What happens when my child wants their own account?

You create a takeover link. Your child signs up with a new account and opens the link – the profile moves to that account with its teams and history. From then on your child manages their own profile.

What can the team see about my child?

The team sees your child's profile in the squad – with a note on who manages it – plus their replies. If you no longer need the profile, delete it permanently; team memberships, replies and personal data are removed.
