Invite link & QR code
As a manager you tap “Invite” in the squad and get an invite code along with a QR code. Share the link from your phone's share menu – into the team group chat, by text or by email.
Anyone with the app lands straight on the join screen with the code already filled in. At the pitch, your teammate simply scans the QR code.

Find public teams
No link to hand? If a team is publicly findable, you'll find it with the team search in the app and can send a join request with one tap.

The manager decides
Join requests show up in the squad. The manager sees your player profile and accepts or declines – once you're in, you get a push notification.

New here, no app yet
Open the invite link without the app and the invite page shows your code and the right store. On Android the button opens the app directly – or takes you to Google Play.
App installed but not signed in yet? Open the link again – the app remembers the code and takes you straight to the join screen once you've signed up and confirmed your email.

FAQ on joining a team
How do I join a team?
The easiest way is your manager's invite link. Alternatively, tap “Join with code” in the app and type in the code or scan the QR code. Finally, confirm with “Join”.
How long is an invite code valid?
Seven days. After that the app tells you the code has expired. Your manager can create a new code, link and QR code at any time with “Invite”.
I don't have the app yet – what happens with the link?
The link opens an invite page with your code and the way to the App Store or Google Play. Get the app, sign up and confirm your email address. Then open the link again or enter the code, and you're in with one tap.
Can I find a team without an invite?
Yes, if the team is publicly findable. Use “Search public team” to find it and send a join request. As soon as a manager accepts it, you get a push notification.
Can I be in more than one team?
Yes. With one account you can join as many teams as you like and switch using the team switcher at the top of the app. That's also where you'll find “Join another team”.
Does joining cost anything?
No, Startelf is free for players. For your manager to invite new members and accept requests, your team needs an active Manager subscription – from €4.99 a month or €49.99 a year for the whole team, first month is free.
Can parents have their child join a team?
Yes. Parents create a profile for their child in the app and let them join with the invite code. As guardians, they then automatically become part of the team too.
