New

• New design: on iPhone, Startelf now looks like iOS 26 – with Liquid Glass and, on iOS 26, the new tab bar. On Android in the Material 3 look. Menus, forms and messages feel like the rest of your phone.
• Chats: message teammates directly or create your own group chats – always with people from your team. The team chat sits on top, your conversations below. Mute chats, block or report people.
• Places: pick the location of an event via map search (Apple Maps or Google Maps) – with address, map preview and directions in one tap. Your team’s favourite pitches show up right at the top.
• Weather: see temperature, chance of rain and wind at kick-off – up to 7 days ahead.
• Home screen: your next event shows up as a big card with weather, RSVP progress, deadline and accept/decline right on the home screen.
• Your stats: the home screen shows your top-scorer rank, goals per game, RSVPs in a row and training attendance for the current year – and whether you’re a regular.

Improved

• Events: the event list is more compact and the event details are cleaner. Accepted, declined and open at a glance; coaches edit, cancel or delete via the menu at the top.
• Your team photo now headlines the team card on the home screen.
• The changelog is now also in the app under Settings → Legal & help.

• Tournaments: create a tournament right from a tournament event – as a league, with groups, groups + knockout or pure knockout, with an optional third-place match. Add teams with their squads or bring in your own Startelf teams; the app generates the schedule in one tap.
• Schedule: view it by time slot, pitch or round – with a team filter and hints about time conflicts. Reschedule matches, redistribute kick-off times and rename pitches.
• Results: enter results with scorers (own goals included); knockout matches that end level go to a penalty shoot-out.
• Standings and bracket: group tables, best third-placed teams, final ranking and top scorers update automatically, and the bracket shows every knockout round and placement match.
• Sharing: every tournament has a public page with a QR code – perfect as a notice at the pitch, scanning opens the schedule directly.
• Tournament invitations: invitations from other organisers show up live on the home screen. Managers accept in one tap and the event is created automatically. In the team settings you decide whether your team accepts invitations.

Improved

• Pinch to zoom: photos in the team chat and profile pictures can now be zoomed with two fingers in the full-screen view; once zoomed, drag with one finger to move around, and tap to reset the zoom.

• Announce lineup: generating a lineup no longer sends a notification – lineups often change right up to kick-off. Coaches now release it deliberately with “Announce lineup” (on match day and on the tactics board); only then do all players in the lineup get a push, and for games the bench too. If the lineup changes afterwards, you can announce it again.
• Team chat: tap the reactions under a message to see who reacted with what – grouped by emoji, just like in WhatsApp.

• Player of the Match vote: on match day the vote now sits right below its match – so it’s clear which match it belongs to.
• Apple Watch: goals recorded offline are no longer lost – the match state is saved on the watch until it has been synced to your iPhone.
• Error messages now tell you the actual reason instead of a generic error – for example why a reminder can’t be sent just yet.

• Match center: games now have their own view with the opponent and pitch size (5-a-side to 11-a-side). RSVPs only show availability – the coach picks who plays via the match squad, and nominated players get notified.
• Tactics board: set up your starting lineup right on the pitch – tap to assign, with the bench below.
• Live match: kick-off, goals with scorers, opponent goals, substitutions (re-entry allowed), yellow/blue/red cards – a second yellow automatically becomes yellow-red, a second time penalty becomes red; the penalty duration (5 or 10 minutes, per age group) is a team setting, with a countdown in the timeline. Plus half-time, a match timeline and the Player of the Match vote after the final whistle.
• Home screen: the next game appears as a match center card – with opponent, kick-off time and an “in the squad” hint.
• Family: create profiles for your children and manage their events and RSVPs – no separate account needed for the child. Link additional guardians via a link; later your child can take over the profile with its full history on their own account. Coaches can add children directly to the roster and send parents the connect link.
• Nudging: events now show who hasn’t answered yet – coaches send a push reminder with RSVP buttons in one tap (with a cooldown to prevent spamming).

• Statistics: for games, appearances now only count for players who actually played (starting lineup or subbed in).
• Email verification now opens the app directly – no browser detour.
• Player of the Match vote: if you’re not eligible, you now see the reason (e.g. “only the match squad votes”).
• Events: the RSVP lists now match the roster style – tap a player to open their profile.
• Tap a profile photo to view it full-size.

• Absences: set the periods when you’re unavailable right in your profile – from when to when and why (vacation, injured or other). The app declines events in that period for you automatically; you can still accept individual events at any time.
